EPOC was formed in 1996 to represent the interests of Connecticut's Licensed Environmental Professionals (LEPs) by providing information, training and updates regarding the LEP program in Connecticut. EPOC welcomes the participation of all members in our activities and recognizes the strength of drawing on a membership of diverse careers, interests and backgrounds.
Activities of EPOC include:
- providing members with courses in preparation for the LEP examination and for continuing education credits
- maintaining liaisons with the State Board of Examiners and the Connecticut DEEP to keep apprised of their activities, including development and implementation of regulations regarding licensing
- providing comment/testimony in the interest of LEPs
- assisting in revising/updating guidance documents as practice experience warrants
serving as a clearinghouse for tools and information useful to LEPs, such as guidance documents, standards, technical protocols, research articles, etc.
- keeping members apprised of any changes or clarifications to LEPs' responsibilities
