Chief Technology Officer
Joe is the Chief Technology Officer for ADA Carbon Solutions, where he leads all company initiatives in technology and product development and commercialization for activated carbons in emission control applications. He has over 27 years of industrial leadership experience in Research & Development, New Business Platform Development, Market Analysis and Mergers & Acquisitions. He has deep knowledge in activated carbon development and application and brings a fundamental scientific view of situations.
Prior to joining ADA Carbon Solutions, Joe worked 3 years in consulting. Joe’s consulting experience spans a variety of financial and operational contributions. He took a lead role in developing and executing the financial assessment of project savings as part of a North American Lean Six Sigma deployment for a Fortune 100 consumer packaged foods client. Joe led several integration planning and execution projects for Private Equity company acquisitions.
Prior to consulting, Joe spent 21 years with MeadWestvaco Corporation in senior leadership positions for the Consumer Packaging, Specialty Chemicals and Research & Development sectors. As VP Human & Technology Resources for Consumer Packaging, he led the acquisition integration of ten consumer packaging company acquisitions, with emphasis on synergistically combining operational and functional work processes and organizations. While VP Business Development for the Specialty Chemicals Division, Joe led the combined R&D, Marketing and M&A teams.
Joe blends his business and financial acumen with a strong technical background so that process, operational and work processes are scientifically sound and bring sustainable business results. He also applies innovative thinking to offer new views and identify breakthrough solutions to long-standing issues. He is a collaborative change-agent who drives for organizational and technology breakthroughs to enhance a company’s top- and bottom-line dollars.
Joe has conducted business globally with much experience in Europe and Asia. He also serves on the External Advisory Board for the University of South Carolina, Department of Chemical Engineering and had served on the Industrial Visiting Committee for The University of Texas, Department of Chemical Engineering.
