Program Manager - AccessDEQ (Permitting Transformation Program)
Jim Young is the Program Manager for the NC Dept. of Environmental Quality (DEQ)'s Permitting Transformation Program, also known as AccessDEQ, a multi-year initiative to digitize all of the permit programs that DEQ operates and manages. The new system includes a centralized public-facing portal, where external users can log in, apply for any DEQ permit across any of their Divisions, track the status of their permit applications, pay permit fees, upload documents, and more.
Prior to working for DEQ, Jim worked at Mid-Atlantic Associates as a Senior Geologist. He previously ran Terraine, Inc., a small environmental consulting firm. He has also developed various software products over the years, including XForms.
